The Group Executive Committee has the role of financing the Group. Their roles include raising the much needed funds and keeping a close record of where the money goes.

Our Scout Headquarters building is in need of some refurbishment, and the committee’s main and immediate task is to raise the money needed to complete this.

Our main expenditure

To that end, the Committee will be organising several events over the next few months in an effort to start the ball rolling. We will be applying to various bodies for grant aid, but we will still need to raise a lot of this ourselves.

Refurbishment is an on-going issue. So far, we have replaced the main floor in the hall, fitted a new kitchen and redecorated the interior. Once the roof is done, there will still be more work to do. We also need to some work on the doors and windows.

On top of all of this, there is a “wish list” of other equipment that the Group would like. So as you can see, the work of the Executive Committee is never done!
